The Kawaii festival included Natsuko Kondo and Una live shows in ＜KUMOJI KAWAillumi Tree Lighting Ceremony＞ at RYUBO on November 28, the limited period museum and shop, ‘Kyary Pamyu Pamuseum’ and ‘HARAJUKU KAWAii!! SHOP!’ and 2 day standalone project ＜ASOBINITE!!!＞ featuring Yasutaka Nakata (November 29~30) as opening main acts. December 1st came for ＜HARAJUKU KAWAii!! 2013 in OKINAWA＞. Literally KAWAii stormed through and take over the land of Okinawa after one entire week of ‘Kawaii all you want’.
The site had lots of booths covered with women and younger kids in Harajuku fashion, awaiting for the show opening.
The outdoor monitor started displaying, “HARAJUKU KAWAii!!” title. People got excited instantly as the show started. Popular Aomoji-kei models including Shiho Takechi and Natsume Mito appeared on the run way. TEMPURA KIDZ started off as an opening act, performing with high energy. While the venue was nice and heating up, Hanae, Pikarin Shiina, Natsuko Kondo, MAAKIII performed one after another together with fashion model shows with KERA, Zipper and mer. Okinawa free paper ‘be-o’ models joined in this Kawaii storm opportunity.
Shoko Nakagawa started and the audience immediately got wild. Anna Tsuchiya performed overwhelming the kawaii fans on site. Una, the Okinawa native Kawaii artist, showed up on stage, the audience cheered by saying, ‘welcome back!’. Una took the home welcoming moment very preciously, as she happy cried. She thanked her fans by a bold performance in return. The finale of the event was Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, the fans excitement was peaking. Fans from old and young got excited and had fun together.
The grand finale included all the models of the day and Kyary Pamyu Pamyu. KPP made an announcement about her upcoming birthday on January 29, 2014 together with the release of DVD for her 2013 world tour documentary. “let’s make ‘KAWAii’ the universal language of ‘style’!” was the big theme overall. This Kawaii festival, presenting Harajuku Kawaii Culture, came to a successful end after delivering richly organized package of lives, fashion shows and talk shows, with a group photo.
